The Human Body is the text for Hewitt's advanced biology course (See Related Items below). Though recommended for grades 11 and 12, a 10th-grade student could use this if prerequisites have been met: The student MUST have completed a first-year biology course and a first-year chemistry course. This Apologia advanced biology course combined with the biology course which uses Exploring Creation with Biology gives the student the equivalent of a university biology course. It covers both the anatomy and physiology of the human body's eleven organ systems in detail.
The two-volume set consists of (1) the student text which contains all student material, on-your-own questions and solutions, laboratory exercises, and chapter study guides (hardback, color illustrations, and diagrams) and (2) a solutions and tests manual, which contains answers to chapter study guides, tests, and test solutions (paperback, black-and-white). Additional materials (e.g., laboratory equipment and the book The Anatomy Coloring Book) which are recommended for the course are available from Apologia.
